Austrian
The success of the French Revolution had encouraged similar principles over much of Europe and when France declared war on Austria, they responded with a coordinated invasion of France that was quickly turned back. The Austrians managed several victories until 1794 when a French victory at Fleurus signalled the start of a new stage in the wars. By 1795, the Austrian Netherlands had been lost, and after a certain Napoleon took charge of the French armies, they were soon marching towards Vienna and the Austrians sued for peace.
